Small Town Big World Festival Saturday!
The Small Town, Big World: International Festival is a "must go" event. The fun takes place Saturday from 10 am until 2 pm in Lilburn City Park at 76 Main St.
The Opening Ceremonies features a Parade of Flags from around the world, followed by entertainment from local and regional groups, world cuisine, exhibits and demonstrations displaying sports and culture, and fun children's activities. Free admission.
Opening Ceremonies includes the MROTC Color Guard, the Berkmar High School Drumline, Congressman Rob Woodall, State Senator Curt Thompson, Rep. B.J. Pak, Comm. Chairman Charlotte Nash, Commissioner Lynette Howard, and Mayor Pro-tem Dunn.
Entertainment: Lattitude Fusion Band from Athens Georgia, Lilburn Middle School Orchestra, Core Alegria Childrens Choir, Forefront Theatre, Susan Clearman, vocalist Nicole Rivera, Romanian Dancers, Korean Gayageum music, and Latin Dancers.
Food: Agavero, Haven Restaurant, I luv Pho, Spiced Right BBQ are area restaurants that will be providing moderately priced food and beverages from around the world. Kona Ice will also be selling their popoular ices.
Vega Radio 96.5 will broadcast remotely from the festival
Demos and Activities: All free - Bounce houses, soccer, karate, and cheerleading demonstrations, as well as a punt, pass and kick competition; passport game, and crafts, henna tatto, and others. Gwinnett County Fire Truck and Sparky, Nam Dae Mun international fruits and vegtable demo, Home Depot Do It Yourself demo, Lilburn Police Child Safety, Consulate exhibits from Guatemala, Ecuador, Haiti and Ukraine; and exhibitor giveaways.
Shuttles: Provided by First Baptist Church Lilburn from their parking lot on Hwy. 29 near Indian Trail/Killian Hill intersection.
